The Durham Engine Facility

The Durham Engine Facility features a teaming workforce of highly skilled technicians that assemble 14 different engine configurations. Technicians are entrusted and empowered to make site-wide decisions, hold leadership positions in their teams, and develop new advancements in processes and systems. Our 500,000 sq. ft., climate-controlled site has recently surpassed 35,000 engines and cores shipped with growing demand in the coming years. The Durham Engine Facility ensures a safe environment where each technician is dedicated to the development of our products, processes, and people.

Self-Directed Workforce

Our self-directed workforce focuses on ownership, where the site operations are in the hands of the technicians, not layers of management. Each technician owns their process and development, work schedule, and personal advancement. 17 high-performance teams own the assembly of an engine, from receiving parts to shipment. 9 councils, with representatives from each team, discuss site-wide issues and decide the best path forward. The Durham Team is accountable for ensuring the safety of everyone at the site, and the quality of our products and work.  We believe the best people to design solutions are the people that do the work.
