Investing $60M in Wilmington manufacturing

In 2026, GE Aerospace plans to invest another $1B to deliver for our customers, scale production of more durable parts, and support military missions – all with safety and quality at the center. In Wilmington, we’re investing $60 million to continue the modernization of equipment to support increased demand. This includes advanced machining equipment, upgraded heat treatment furnaces, and building improvements to support the growing workforce.

 For more than 22 years our manufacturing facilities in Wilmington have helped fuel the growth and success of GE Aerospace.  With 600,000 sq ft of manufacturing space and an advanced mix of 300+ CNC machines/ 21 special processes we’re producing high quality rotating parts  for commercial and military aircraft engines.  When GE Aerospace introduces advanced new technologies like the LEAP and 9x Engines, our team has outstanding opportunities to contribute.  

The parts and components we manufacture include Blisks, Small Spools, Welded Spools, CFM HPT Disks, and a variety of large parts that can be found in a wide range of today and tomorrow’s high performance engines.
