Business & Management Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 3 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: NVQ Level 3 / 4
- Academic Requirements: 5 GCSE - A* - C Including Mathematics and English
- What you will be doing: As a Business and Management Apprentice, you’ll spend three years rotating through several departments, where you’ll gain the skills and experiences needed to thrive in a business environment, gaining a Level 3 / 4 NVQ with the option of an ILM qualification.
Engineering Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 3 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: BTEC / NVQ Level 3
- Academic Requirements: 5 GCSE - A* - C Including Mathematics, English and a Science
- What you will be doing: Over a three year duration you will rotate through the repair, overhaul, and test areas of our business, incorporating Lean methodology in everything you do. Completing a Level 3 NVQ with work-based learning and assessment.
Supply Chain Business Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 3 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: NVQ Level 3 / 4
- Academic Requirements: 5 GCSE - A* - C Including Mathematics and English
- What you will be doing: Run in partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd, our Supply Chain Business Apprenticeship are a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, global aviation company that prides itself on offering career opportunities for talented individuals. During your apprenticeship, you will complete an NVQ level 3 and 4 in Business and Management alongside Essential Skills. In addition to the NVQ, there is a potential for you to increase your studies at undertake an ILM qualification. During the programme you will develop your Skills and understanding on the following processes:
- New material purchasing policies & procedures.
- USM material purchasing policies & procedures.
- External vendor management
- Plan update of Gate 2

Engineering Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 3 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: SCQF Level 6
- Academic Requirements: SVQ Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) at SCQF Level 5 OR Engineering Foundation Apprenticeship.
- What you will be doing: Various types of engineering that support the overhaul process of the GEnx engine types. These roles include; overhaul mechanic, maintenance fitter, electrician, machinist, and welder. You will rotate round our facility in 8 week cycles to develop competence and confidence whilst gaining key skills and knowledge related to the parts, the processes and our people. You will also work in office based support functions to gain a deeper understanding of the wider business operations.

Please note, any offer of employment is conditional on successfully passing an entry exam with GET, content of which GE Aerospace has no influence over. GET set this exam to ensure learners are at the right level of competence to successfully progress through the apprenticeship. - What you will be doing: As a Test Technician Apprentice (TTA) you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain on a 3.5 year rotational scheme that will enable you to understand the end-to-end manufacturing process, from a test perspective, down to a component level. You will do this whilst studying a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship - Electrical, completing a HNC/D. - What you will be doing: As an Advanced Manufacturing Apprentice (AMA) you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain on a rotational scheme that will enable you to understand the manufacturing process of our products. You will study a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Technician Technical Support – Electrical to support your technical progression. Our apprenticeship is focused on supporting your personal and professional development, and is an opportunity to begin a career as part of a global business within the aviation industry.
Supply Chain - Business Degree Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 3.5 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: Level 6 (Degree)
- Academic Requirements: Achieved: 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent), including Maths and English, at grades C / 4 or above
Have achieved, or be predicted
3 A-Levels (or equivalent) at grades C or above (or equivalent) - What you will be doing: As a Supply Chain Business Degree Apprentice (BDA) you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain on a rotational scheme that will enable you to understand the end-to-end manufacturing process from planning through to production. You will do this whilst experiencing on campus delivery of a Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship. Our apprenticeship is focused on supporting your personal and professional development, and is an opportunity to begin a career as part of a global business within the aviation industry.
Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 4 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: Level 4 (HNC/D)
- Academic Requirements: Achieved 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent), including Math's, English at grades C/4 or above.
In addition, have achieved, or by the start of the apprenticeship be expected to achieve:

You will study a combined Electrical and Mechanical Level 4 HNC and Level 5 HND, which will support you developing the skills to be a Manufacturing Engineering. You will learn the skills required to aid and improve our shop floor processes using ‘Lean’ principles. A key element of the programme will also be learning techniques to make you an adept problem solver, whilst also being involved in new equipment purchases and integration to help us sustain our competitive advantage. Our apprenticeship is focused on supporting your personal and professional development, whilst having the opportunity to grow within a global leading business within the aerospace industry.
Engineering Degree Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 5 years
- Level of Apprenticeship: Level 6 (BEng Hons)
- Academic Requirements: 5 GCSEs (including Mathematics and English) at grades C/4 or above. Minimum of 112 UCAS points via:
- 3 A-Levels at grade BBC or above (including Mathematics and another STEM-based subject e.g., Physics/ Electronics/Computing or similar).
- BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering at grade DMM or above.
- Equivalent qualification with appropriate Mathematics content.
- What you will be doing: You will complete at least seven 6-month rotations, working on Aircraft Power Systems, Displays Systems and Avionics Networking Engineering Projects. You will also have opportunities to develop your leadership, teamwork and communication skills through a range of development opportunities. You will work towards an Accredited BEng (Hons) Degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering.
This programme is aligned to the Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer (Degree) Level 6 Apprenticeship Standard.
Environment Health & Safety Apprenticeship
- Length of Programme: 2 years plus EPA
- Level of Apprenticeship: Level 3
- Academic Requirements: 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent), including Maths and English, at grades C / 4 or above
Desired/preferred: have achieved, or be predicted
3 A-Levels (or equivalent) at grades C or above (or equivalent) - What you will be doing: As the Environment, Health and Safety Apprentice (EHSA) you will be applying the technical skills learned in a practical environment supported by a team of experienced Environment, Health and Safety professionals. You will work collaboratively and support the EHS Team to develop, review and check on the implementation of safe systems of work, deliver training, investigate incidents, analyse data and present findings to management teams. As part of the role, you'll be working towards your Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship at Level 3.

- Academic Requirements: To apply, you must have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of 5 GCSEs, at least Level 4 or above, to include Level 4 in Mathematics, English Language and Science (BTEC in Science will also be considered).
Desired: Level 5 or above in GCSE Mathematics or a recognized engineering/technology qualification such as BTEC Level 2 Engineering or City and Guilds Level 2 Engineering would be advantageous. - What you will be doing: Our Engineering apprenticeships run in partnership with Farnborough College of Technology, and are a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, global aviation company that prides itself on offering career opportunities for talented individuals.
Year 1 full time College, Year 2 has two days college 3 days placement at work. Year 3 one Day College and four days work placement.
