At GE Aerospace, we have a wide range of established Apprentice programmes for Advanced Manufacturing, Supply Chain Business Degree, Business, Engineering, and Engineering Degree across our UK sites that we recruit for each year. Vacancies typically open in the Autumn for the following Summer/Autumn.

Our Dowty and Feltham roles go live on 8th October, Cheltenham & Wales on 20th October and Prestwick on 3rd November. Buttons to apply will appear on these pages in the afternoon of the day the roles go live. Please note EDA Cheltenham will not be hiring for a 2026 intake.

Wales

GE Aerospace Wales, located near Cardiff, specializes in the testing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of commercial jet engines, including the GE90-115B, GE9X, and CFM56. With over 75 years of operation, it is one of the largest engine maintenance facilities globally, serving over 90 customers and fostering future talent through robust training programs.

Business and Management Apprenticeship 

What you will be doing:  As a Business and Management Apprentice, you’ll spend three years rotating through several departments, where you’ll gain the skills and experiences needed to thrive in a business environment, gaining a Level 3 / 4 NVQ with the option of an ILM qualification.  
Qualifications: Diploma Business Administration
Level of Apprenticeship: Level 4

Engineering Apprenticeship

What you will be doing:  Over a three year duration you will rotate through the repair, overhaul, and test areas of our business, incorporating Lean methodology in everything you do. Completing a Level 3 NVQ with work-based learning and assessment (Mechanical and Electrical).
Qualifications: SVQ Aeronautical Engineering
Level of Apprenticeship: Level 3

Supply Chain Apprenticeship 

What you will be doing:  Run in partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd, our Supply Chain Business Apprenticeship are a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, global aviation company that prides itself on offering career opportunities for talented individuals. During your apprenticeship, you will complete an NVQ level 3 and 4 in Business and Management alongside Essential Skills.  In addition to the NVQ, there is a potential for you to increase your studies at undertake an ILM qualification. 
Qualifications: Diploma Business Administration

Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship 

What you will be doing:  The Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship is a three-year program where you'll gain hands-on experience and specialized skills. Year 1 is full time study at college. Year 2 apprentices will rotate through various areas of the factory. Year 3 apprentices will move into more permanent areas in the speciality, and preparing you for a career in aerospace!

Aerospace Engineering Degree Apprenticeship

What you will be doing:  The BEng Hons degree structured programme aimed at gaining a variety of competencies

Manufacturing Engineer Degree Apprenticeship

What you will be doing:  The Manufacturing Engineer Degree Apprenticeship will undertake a series of cross functional job rotations in production, quality, design, materials & processes, tool design, Non Destructive Test to obtain a broad understanding of the success factors in becoming a successful manufacturing engineer.

Calibration Technician Apprentice

What you will be doing:  The course for the Calibration Technician Apprenticeship is delivered using a combination of practical sessions, lectures and tutorials covering electrical, mechanical principles with metrology equipment and calibration.

Accounting Finance Degree Apprenticeship

What you will be doing:  For those who aspire to manage and implement accounting, finance systems and processes. You will use principles of problem-based and inquiry-led learning to demonstrate effectiveness in modern commercial finance roles whilst embedded in Dowty's finance department.

Quality Practitioner Apprentice

What you will be doing:  The apprenticeship is designed to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain the Quality Management System and gain practical use of Quality Tools and improvement methodology. This apprenticeship aims to help learners become more efficient and productive, while improving business performance.

Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship

What you will be doing:  As an Advanced Manufacturing Apprentice (AMA) you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain on a rotational scheme that will enable you to understand the manufacturing process of our products. You will study Apprenticeship Standard ST1395 - a Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician, to support your technical progression. Our apprenticeship is focused on supporting your personal and professional development, and is an opportunity to begin a career as part of a global business within the aviation industry. This apprenticeship will train you to be a qualified Operator within our Manufacturing Supply Chain at roll off.

Test Technician Apprenticeship

Supply Chain Business Degree Apprenticeship

What you will be doing: As a Supply Chain Business Degree Apprentice (BDA) you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain on a rotational scheme that will enable you to understand the end-to-end manufacturing process from planning through to production. You will spend your first 12-months full time in the business to learn the foundations of Supply Chain, before beginning your university experience, through on-campus delivery of Apprenticeship Standard ST0272, a Level 6 Leadership and Management Professional Degree Apprenticeship (LaMP). Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship

What you will be doing:  As a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice (MEA), you will join our Cheltenham based Supply Chain, on a 4-year rotational scheme, that will enable you to understand end-to-end manufacturing processes, through the lens of a Manufacturing Engineer. You will study a combined Electrical and Mechanical Level 4 HNC and Level 5 HND, which will support you developing the skills to be a Manufacturing Engineering. You will learn the skills required to aid and improve our shop floor processes using ‘Lean’ principles. A key element of the programme will also be learning techniques to make you an adept problem solver, whilst also being involved in new equipment purchases and integration to help us sustain our competitive advantage. Our apprenticeship is focused on supporting your personal and professional development, whilst having the opportunity to grow within a global leading business within the aerospace industry.
