In this 12-month placement, you'll gain invaluable skills and experience covering all aspects of engineering, from requirements analysis to product design to defining test specifications.

On the 12-month Electronic Engineering Placement, you’ll make a difference by applying your digital and analogue knowledge to active projects and gain invaluable skills and experience in various design and development activities related to power distribution and control products.

In the 12-month Data Science Placement, you may be combining data and analytics with engineering or applications knowledge. 

In the 12-month Digital Technology Placement, you'll gain invaluable skills and experience, providing support in either business or technical areas of Information Technology. 

In your 12-month Finance Placement you will gain invaluable skills and experience in finance and general business day to day acumen.  The opportunities available will include Financial Planning & Analysis, Engineering Finance and Supply Chain Finance and will cover areas such as daily management tasks, planning, analysis and reporting.

In the 12-month Manufacturing Engineering Placement, you will acquire essential skills and hands-on experience across the entire product lifecycle—from Research and Development to high-volume production, as well as maintenance, repair, and overhaul. This role emphasizes production support, mechanical tooling design, and manufacturing process optimization, with a strong focus on Lean principles to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The Quality Placement plays a vital role in ensuring our business delivers high-quality products to customers while maintaining cost efficiency. In this position, students may contribute to structured Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects from reaching the customer. The role also includes conducting process audits to ensure compliance with global aviation standards, verifying that supplied materials meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry, and analyzing critical-to-quality production data to drive continuous improvement.

In the 12-month Research & Development (R&D) Placement, you will work on R&D and Advanced Technology projects with multi-disciplinary and international teams. This is a Research Engineering role where you'll develop your scientific & engineering skills to help invent the future of flight and develop the next generation of products.

A Software Engineering placement student at GE Aerospace will gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects that contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of software systems used in aerospace applications. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply programming skills to solve technical challenges, and learn industry-standard practices such as agile methodologies, version control, and software quality assurance. The placement provides opportunities to enhance technical expertise, develop problem-solving skills, and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a safety-focused and quality-driven environment.

As a Supply Chain Placement, you will work in a central position in the business and have the opportunity to gain invaluable Supply Chain expertise and experience. Being introduced to the intricacies of business-critical projects within Supply Chain, collaborating cross-functionally with Sourcing, Finance, Programs, Order Management, Aftermarket, Manufacturing and Engineering to develop and improve business processes. This is an opportunity for the placement to experience the end-to-end business planning, all the way through from reviewing and confirming sales orders to working with Logistics and ensuring the delivery of products to customers.

A Systems Engineering Placement student at GE Aerospace will work on the design, integration, and optimization of complex aerospace systems. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure systems meet safety, quality, and performance requirements. Tasks may include requirements analysis, system modelling, testing, and validation, as well as supporting the development of innovative solutions for aerospace challenges. The placement offers opportunities to develop technical and analytical skills while gaining exposure to advanced engineering tools and methodologies in a safety-first environment.
